When can you start your new job? It had to be soon... we could not wait too long. A decision had to be made that day so Mike told them he could start in 6 weeks which would be February 6, 2013. We had six weeks to find a place to rent, decide what to do with our house and pack all our belongings.
We were ready, so ready to move. Each day that went by I could feel the country quietness getting closer and closer, however I was worried. Three different realtors came by and they had bad news, it simply wasn't a good time to sell. We would not be able to sell the house. We also had another problem, a much worse problem. After weeks of searching we could not find a place to rent in Rutherfordton. We had a budget and we needed to stick to it. None of the houses we looked seemed to fit what we were looking for. Lake Lure homes looked beautiful but it cost too much. The homes we could afford were infested with bugs or had dirty kitchens and bathrooms. I just could not understand why things were not falling into place like they should but once again I knew the Lord would make a way for us.
We decided to rent our house till the real estate market got better. We quickly found a renter for our home. We had 2 weeks left till move day and we still had no house in Rutherfordton. At this point we were going to be homeless or Mike would have to drive an hour and 45 minutes twice a day. That just wasn't an option! Here I was trying to figure a way but God already had it figured out!
One day during a church meeting we met some friends we hadn't seen in a while. Mike was quick to tell them we were moving to Rutherfordton. They could not believe it! They told us they were building a house in Forest City, Rutherfordton neighbor town and they knew someone from church who owned a large piece a land with an empty trailer. They were sure we could stay there till we found a place. I had hope again...
